Silver Medal 2015
Intense and dusty aromas of incense, oak and violets. Hints of tropical melon, apricot, sugar coated orange and drying spices appear. Beautifully juicy and honeyed, showing some maturity.
The palate is a little watery with moist honey an dusty oak. Less complex than the nose with a few cardboard notes. Finish: Beautiful finish with marzipan, crisp spices and lingering violets. Conclusion: A lovely, mature malt.
Very tropical fruits of peach and mango. Old fashioned libraries and polished church pews. Citronella candle and incense sticks. A pleasant chalky, waxy texture. Annabel Meikle
A lovely honey and blossom nose, gentle and delicate. Apple pie, sweet pastries, crystal clear barley sugar on the medium-weight palate. The soft, gentle finish just melts into the tongue. Tim Forbes
Fudge, apples, pears, brandy snaps, vanilla. Slightly fiery on the palate with a chewy texture. Feels stronger than 40% ABV. Pencil shavings on the finish. Lucy Britner
Some fruit (raspberry, rhubarb rock, passionfruit, guava, lychee) but rather elusive – sweet in a slightly metallic way (chocolate bar in foil, tin of assorted biscuits); also sackcloth, varnished wood and leather. On the palate there is pear, banana, salt and chilli on pineapple; honey and barley sugars against quinine and liquorice bitterness. Robin Laing
