Deep, dense and luscious, maturing fragrant honey aromas. Quite sweet but a salty nip to freshen. Good complexity with moist raisins, sweet spice and hints of violets and vanilla. The palate opens with mature, nutty, dusty Oloroso, followed by moist raisinated fruit, walnuts, dark honey and elegant, delicate salty notes, which balances the sweetness well. Long and succulent finish with a touch of vanilla and coffeed spice coming through. A stunning, mature, sherried Islay.

A hint of peat here gives this whisky some body and form, which becomes more apparent on the palate as the rich fruits come pouring through. A fantastically flavoured dram. Joel Harrison

Pears and peat. Bit of toffee. Quite sour on the palate. Not that exciting but a decent dram all the same. Lucy Britner

Wonderful meeting of waxy pine notes, a subtle waft of smoke, some sherry spice and a very light milk chocolate. Totally delightful. Neil Ridley

Almost cognacesque nose, with tobacco, cigar box, very old leather and newspaper. Rich sherry on the palate, with deep bark and golden syrup, plus apple liquorice, clove and white pepper. Tim Forbes

Chunky, fat, dried fruit and green nuts. Hints of sweet tobacco, violets and dusty, ephemeral peat. With time some dusty vanillins coming through to balance the sherry. Juicy palate with a good depth of plumy, raisinated fruit, dark chocolate and chunky malt. Gentle, sweet spices and chocolaty tannins mingle with hints of violets. An impressive sherry monster.
