Teeling Whiskey Vintage Reserve 21 Years Old

Best Irish Single Malt 21 Years and Over 2015

Winey aromas and figs, a little wood varnish.

A touch of green olive. Sweet at first on the palate. Then the olive flavour kicks in. Some fresh fruit.

Leathery, with tobacco and chocolate brownies. More leather on the palate, with lots of savoury oak, gentle spice, raisins and browning leaves. Long, earthy finish.

Best Irish Single Malt 2014

Fresh berries and cherries. Cranberry, liquorice, aniseed, redcurrant jelly and almond pastry. Polished saddles, the waxiness becomes more like pomegranate candles. Blackcurrant cordial. Complex. Annabel Meikle

A hint of vanilla smoke on the nose, this develops into cream soda and toffee on the palate with a smoked undertone and finish. Joel Harrison

Wet green, damp moss. Oak chips. Beeries and raisins. Oily full mouthfeel. Franci Ferla

Tangerine, satsuma and grapefruit. The fruit displays a lovely, natural pithy quality along with some dense, herbal honey, lightly dusty oak and a little fish oils and leafy herbs. Luscious palate, complex and juicy with candies lemon peel, orange, grapefruit, barley and lashing of manuka honey. Gentle if slightly bitter spices build towards the middle but the juicy fruit and honey keeps the balance amazingly well. Chris Goodrum
