The Glenlivet XXV

The Glenlivet XXV

Gold Medal 2016

Heavy nuts and prunes in the Oloroso sherry nose with sweet treacle, moist fruitcake and dates. The palate is full of thick and juicy Oloroso fruit with hints of treacle, liquorice and walnuts. The finish is long and moist, full of mouth-watering dried fruit and citrus with bitter, chocolatey, tannic spice returning at the end. An impressive sherry monster.

Silver Medal 2015

Fragrant, slightly smoky, hints of dried fruit, some milk chocolate, ripe green plums and Japanese spice. An excellent and well put together whisky.

Best Speyside Single Malt 2014

A rich nose of high quality cocoa, mango, banana and old leather. The palate gives good balanced flavours of milk chocolate, toasted pine nuts and tropical fruits. Joel Harrison

Crikey this has it all: toasted coconut, rich chocolate, peaches and cream, plump vanilla and custard. Unrivalled whisky making, without a doubt. Neil Ridley

The palate opens with plenty of soft, squidgy fruit and gentle spice. Quite full with barley, pepper and dusty wood tannins. Chris Goodrum

Orchard fruit on the nose, develops biscuity malt notes with an oaky undercurrent. The fruit on the palate is more sweet and raisiny, with pleasant, faint earthiness shows through in the background. Tim Forbes

Warm dark chocolate sauce on a wooden spoon then the sherry notes start coming through. Medium sweet and well balanced on the palate with a very giving finish. A soft chocolate and sherry pillow to help relax at the day. Michael Lord
